In Vitro:
4-hydroxyphenylbutazone is isolated from incubations of phenylbutazone with either ram seminal vesicle microsomes or horseradish peroxidase. 4-hydroxyphenylbutazone is ineffective inhibitor of PHS cyclooxygenase.
