Stimulator of Interferon gene (STING) is a membrane receptor protein that connects cytoplasmic microbial nucleic acid and downstream cytokines. It can be used when pathogen DNA, body abnormal DNA, or cyclic dinucleotide, CDN is recognized by intracellular DNA receptors such as Cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS), and the STING signaling pathway is activated to promote the expression of IFN. The abnormal expression of STING may cause immune deficiency or autoimmune diseases in the body, so STING is precisely regulated by various regulatory mechanisms and plays a key role in antiviral immunity of the body.
