The Gli gene family was first identified when GLI1 was amplified in human glioblastoma. GLI1, GLI2 and GLI3 have five conserved zinc finger structures, which are connected by histidine and cysteine.
As a transcription factor, Gli also plays an important role in regulating bcl-2 transcription, which is closely related to the occurrence of common malignant tumors.
