MDM2, one of the strongest inhibitors of apoptosis discovered so far, is an oncogene closely related to malignant tumors. It can regulate multiple functions of p53, including directly blocking the n-terminal transcriptional activation domain of p53, promoting the transfer of p53 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, and ubiquitination of p53 as an E3 ligase, thereby degrading p53.
